Frequently Asked Questions

Where will the tour originate and how long will it last?

If you are a guest at Serenity Farmhouse Inn, the tour bus will meet you on the property and leave at 10:30. Other guests will be picked up at 10:45 from the Wimberley Valley Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Center located at 14100 Ranch Road 12 in Wimberley next to Brookshire Brothers. The tour will last approximately 4 hours and will return at 3:00-3:30. We ask that you are flexible. The wine tour host will help keep a comfortable pace so everyone has a chance to enjoy the wine tasting experience, yet be aware of the tour timeframe.

What can I expect on the tour?

Our luxury tour coach seats 12 people, so you will join other wine lovers or new enthusiasts for a beautiful drive through the Hill Country to 3 wineries over 4 hours. You will enjoy 6 tastes at each winery. Along the way your wine tour host will offer an assortment of tapas appetizers. We will spend approximately 30-45 minutes at each winery, with some flexibility. Your basic wine tasting fees are included. You are encouraged to purchase a bottle or more of any wine you enjoy.

What is wine tasting etiquette?

Your tour includes 6 tastes at each of the 3 unique wineries we visit. With the tastes you will get the essence and flavor of the different varieties offered. If you encounter a wine that is not to your liking, it is acceptable to pour the remaining taste into the buckets provided. Please remain respectful, as the wineries take great pride in their product even though each customer may not prefer all of the wine served.

What are Tapas?

You will be served a variety of tapas as a snack at one of the wineries. Tapas originated in the Spanish cuisine as small portions of food, but has expanded to include any type of appetizer or finger food. Tapas is meant to be paired with wine and enjoyed with friends.

What specific wineries will we visit?

Our trips vary each day depending on the wineries’ availability, the wishes of the tour guests, or other factors. We cannot specify the wineries visited on each day but they will be chosen from the selections listed in the tour description. Your wine tour host will give you the details on the day of your tour.

What is the reservation policy?

Your trip is prepaid at the time of the reservation to guarantee your seat on the tour. Tours are limited to 12 people so confirmed reservations are necessary.

All tour guests must be 21 years old. No minors/children are allowed on the tour even if accompanied by a parent or guardian. If someone makes a reservation and is found to be under 21 years old after presenting identification prior to the tour, no refund will be issued.

Reservations are paid in advance for all tours. If you change your tour date within 30 days of your scheduled tour, a $10/person fee will be charged. Should you cancel your reservation within 30 days of your tour date, you will receive a refund in the form of a gift certificate from Taste of the Hills for 100% of your paid reservation issued on the date of your scheduled tour. This gift certificate can be used within 12 months of the date issued by you or anyone you choose. Efforts can be made to fill your reservation on the scheduled tour date. If this occurs, a $25/person fee will be charged and a refund will be issued for the balance. There is no guarantee that your reservation can be filled. If no other person takes your reservation on the scheduled tour, you will be issued the gift certificate mentioned above. No refund in any form will be issued for "no shows" or cancellations made the day of the tour.

Tours will run regardless of the weather unless the road conditions are deemed unsafe, at which time Taste of the Hills will cancel and reschedule your tour or issue you a refund.
